The story is about a missionary family, the Prices, who move to the Belgian Congo in 1959. The family consists of the Baptist father, Nathan Price, his wife, Orleanna, and their four daughters - Rachel, Leah, Adah and Ruth May. Their story is narrated by each of the female characters. As we journey with them in their missionary journey, we will use this as a forum about the conflicts that develop in the book and any connections we make to with our own lives and beliefs.
